Restaurant notes: Cheaper online eats; Le Virtu going to Beard House

  • Allmenus.com, the Philly.com food-delivery partner, is offering a 20 percent "snow day discount." You just enter the SNOWDAY20 discount code when placing an order online.

  • Chef Joe Cicala of South Philly's Le Virtù has been invited to cook at the James Beard House in New York on April 21. The feed is $170 a head.

  • Wolfgang Puck's crew has moved into the Kimmel Center. For now, it's handling the catering in the various spaces, and is serving food before and after events in the Peco Bar area in Commonwealth Plaza. Puck will open a restaurant this fall in the former gift shop on the venue's Spruce Street side. Here is a sample menu from the Peco Bar area. Click here.

  • A branch of the Burlington sports bar Red Zone is fixing to open an Old City branch at the former  Cafe Spice (35 S. Second St.) on Jan. 21. Co-owner Kyle Piasecki says they're keeping much of Cafe Spice's plushness, adding about 40 TVs. Menu is divided into "quarters," starting with small plates. Beverage selection will include beer cocktails and community punch bowls. Facebook page is here.
