Restaurant notes: Cantina Feliz ready to open

Garces alums Tim Spinner and Brian Sirhal are ready to go in Fort Washington.

The finishing touches are being applied to Cantina Feliz, a spiffy Mexican at 424 S. Bethlehem Pike in Fort Washington, which previously was Alison two. (Before that, it was Marita's Cantina, a spot quite a few notches down on the food chain.)

Business partners Tim Spinner (former chef at Jose Garces' Distrito) and Brian Sirhal (Distrito's former food-and-beverage director) have been working for five months on the project.

They've kept Alison two's bones, while enlivening the dining rooms and bar with murals (from noted Day of the Dead artist Alison Dilworth) and tilework.

Here's the menu, a collection of dishes wisely priced beautifully for the burbs -- including huaraches, enchiladas, tacos, and a whole suckling pig to feed four -- and the drink menu.

Opening is Jan. 13 for dinner. It will be dinner only at the start, but weekday lunch will follow at the end of the month.
