Restaurant notes: Sikora leaves the Stern fold

Talula's Table alumnus Bryan Sikora and Daniel Stern have parted ways after less than two months. Sikora, who'd been at MidAtlantic after a so-brief stop at a Delaware restaurant company, tells me that he'll be part of an exciting dining project planned for the Lehigh Valley.

OpenTable's list of top American restaurants, chosen by voters, includes The Orchard in Kennett Square.

Todd Blackney, former executive chef at McCormick & Schmick's in Center City, is the new exec chef at the Joseph Ambler Inn of North Wales.

Fork exec chef Chef Terence Feury has set July 17 for another of his fisherman's trips with fishmonger Anthony McCarthy. It's a charter expedition that leaves from Atlantic City and returns with a mess o' fish that he prepares for dinner. It's $200, $50 additional for anyone who wants to join the group for dinner.

Mike "Scoats" Scotes of Grey Lodge Pub in the lower Northeast says to look for a September opening of Hop Angel Brauhaus, his new concept at the historic Blue Ox at the busy intersection of Rhawn, Pine and Oxford Avenues in Fox Chase. Specialty will be American-made, German-style beers and "Alpine" cuisine (open-faced sandwiches on house-made bread, plus pizzas). Some previous words: Here and here.
