Restaurant notes

Openings and Ohno.

Tiffin's Wynnewood location (50 E. Wynnewood Rd.) will start serving Monday (4/19).

Sunday (4/18) will be last call at Sly Fox's location in Phoenixville's Pikeland Village. It is due to reopen across the street in the old Blockbuster video in Maple Lawn Shopping Center on Wednesday (4/21).

El Rey's opening has been slid to April 25. (Love the slogan in the sign: "esto cambiara su vida" -- "this will change your life.")

HeadHouse, the tavern at 122 Lombard St. replacing Zot, is shooting for the first couple days of May.

*There seems to be a further delay at City Tap House, the pub with nifty outdoor deck (including fire pits) above Bobby Flay's at the Radian (3925 Walnut St.). It has been in development for more than a year.

Hawthornes at 11th and Fitzwater Streets in South Philly is planning a block party for May 2 (3 to 7 p.m.) with 20 different IPAs, live reggae, and BBQ. Free admission; beers are $4. Rain date: May 16,.

The former Ava at 518 S. Third St. will get new life under Christine Fischer, who previously owned Astral Plane Millenium (where fish is now). In a semi-related note, Reed Apaghian, who owned Astral Plane for decades, is now general manager of Hamilton's Grill Room in Lambertville, N.J.

Tweed, coming to 114 S. 12th St., is hiring.

Olympian Apolo Anton Ohno, who spent a few days here, dined at Buddakan on Thursday and Parc on Wednesday. And oh, no, wise guy, he did not have the skate.
