Vegan comes to New Hope, starting 3/23: It's Sprig & Vine, a BYO from former Horizons sous chef/chef de cuisine Ross Olchvary, at 450 Union Square Drive (215-693-1427), near Triumph's New Hope location. The 49-seater will have a 100-percent vegan menu, seasonally focused; open kitchen; and warm and inviting atmosphere (colorfully bridging casual and elegant). Sample entrees, whose average price will be $17 to $18: slow-roasted root vegetable pavé (soft polenta, rosemary and red wine-braised shallots), seared coconut risotto (red chile crepe with oyster mushrooms and asparagus, red lentil purée), and gnocchetti pasta with smoked seitan sausage, fennel, gigande beans and peas, saffron-carrot sauce. It will do lunch Wednesdays-Saturdays, and dinner Tuesdays-Saturdays, and in a few weeks, Sunday brunch.

Solaris Grille's location on Skippack Pike in Center Square is closed after less than 18 months. Chef-owner John Anderson is doing catering in the larger dining room, while the room in front will be refashioned into a branch of Tequila Joe's, his budget-friendly cantina in Oreland. Opening will be 3/26.

Butterfish in West Chester closed, just shy of three years. Gift certificates will be honored at sister restaurant Spence Cafe.

West Ave Grille's Dresher location, in the former Carambola, opened last week. Same menu as Jenkintown.

The return of Tony Kanjanakorn, former chef/owner of Alisa Cafe (once in Upper Darby, then Cherry Hill). He's going into the Magnolia Cafe at 583 Horsham Rd. in early April with a BYOB called Kinnaree. Moderate-priced Thai-French.

Tyson Wong of Chew Man Chu (Broad and Pine Streets) has refocused his menu to Vietnam and Thailand. While maintaining shrimp dumplings and steamed pork bun, his new grub includes such dishes as Vietnamese shaking filet mignon and good ol' Thai basil chicken. New menu is here.

Tabu -- sports bar, table games and ATM on the ground floor, lounge on the second -- has opened in the former Sal's on 12th at 200 S. 12th St. Owners run Mikey's American Grill in University City and are into social media like nobody's business. Menu is here.

A look ahead to 4/24 from noon to 5 p.m., when the East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District will reprise "Flavors of the Avenue," an assemblage of 19 restaurants on the shtreet between Dickinson and Morris. Participating restaurants and cafes: Adobe Cafe, Avenue Cheese Shop, Black N Brew, Cellini's, Chiarella's, Da Vinci Ristorante, El Zarape, Fond, Fuel, Isabella Pizza, Izumi, Le Virtu, Lucky 13, Mamma Maria's, Paradiso, Ray's Happy Birthday Bar, South Philly Bar & Grill, Stogie Joe's, and Tre Scalini.
