Good news:

Franco's Osteria is targeting a weekend opening at the Presidential, 3900 City Ave., as owner Franco Faggio awaits his liquor license out of safekeeping.

Ro-Zu, the Japanese BYOB at Seventh and Bainbridge, opens softly this weekend.

Doc Watson's final inspection is due today, and it could reopen in mere days. (Previous coverage here.) Owners say that Doc's -- now cleaned up -- will stay open through Philly Beer Week, which ends June 13, and then close for good. Its new incarnation will be called Sherlock's.

By the same token, Tabu -- the comfort fooder/lounge replacing Sal's at 200 S. 12th St. -- is in final inspections and is also getting close. Site is here.

March 9 is debut of the new West Ave Grill in Dresher, where Carambola was.

Tiffin's Wynnewood shop (50 E. Wynnewood Rd.) is up for March 27 or 28.

The Seasons 52 in King of Prussia says it will open on March 29.

HeadHouse, the successor to Zot, is now penciled in for early April.

Bad news:

RIP for Restaurant Rosalie in Cedars, which buttoned up last weekend after a year.

Wanna buy the Plumsteadville Inn in Upper Bucks? It's on the market after closing abruptly.

Julie and Tom D'Alesandro are closing Via Giulia, their 30-seat Haddonfield BYOB, after dinner March 27. "The economy finally did us in," Tom told me.

The Agiato projects are delayed, pending a zoning hearing. After they get open, the owners will turn their attention to Rubb.

How come no mention of Atlantic City Restaurant Week? Excellent value at excellent places.
