Restaurant notes: Xilantro in Wayne

It's opening this month.

Xilantro, an upscale, modern Mexican restaurant with an expansive tequila bar, is in the final weeks of construction at 103 N. Wayne Ave. in Wayne.

Luis Marin (who owns the Sarape restaurants in Chalfont, Horsham, and Blue Bell) and business partner Joel Solomon hired Culinary Institute of America grad Juan Pablo Quiroz as chef, doing contemporary flourishes* on old-time Mexican fare, as well as tableside guacamole.

* There will be foam.

Xilantro will give downtown Wayne a distinct Latin flavor, as Matador is packing in crowds across the street.
