PokéOno: Main Line gets a poké shop
Center City rents sent him to the Main Line, where he took over a former day spa space on the Ardmore restaurant row that also houses El Limon, A La Maison, Local, and Positano.
Jersey shore surfer-turned-restaurateur Andrew Danieli enters soft-opening mode on Saturday, Oct. 29 for PokéOno (59 W. Lancaster Ave., 484-413-2058), his Main Line cafe specializing in poké, the Hawaiian raw-fish dish that has made its way east. (Say it "PO-kay," OK?)
Danieli, who grew up in Absecon, got turned on to poké during a surfing trip to Hawaii. He learned to roll his own and started selling it at street fairs and farmer's markets. Then came the decision to open a storefront.
Center City rents sent him to the Main Line, where he took over a former day spa space on the Ardmore restaurant row that also houses El Limon, A La Maison, Local, and Positano. Simple interior includes a green wall and a movie screen showing surfing movies.
Customers can belly up to the counter to build bowls on white rice, brown rice, and mixed greens, to which they add tuna, salmon, shrimp, or tofu, and then add sauces, veggies, and toppings.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. to start.
