Pizzeria Vetri opens in Rittenhouse

The pizzas emerge from the oven on June 2 at the location at 1615 Chancellor St.

The Vetri crew starts turning out Neapolitan pizza at 11 a.m. June 2 at the Pizzeria Vetri location at 1615 Chancellor St. (215-763-3760).

It's open at 11 a.m. seven days for lunch and dinner and stays open till 11 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and till 1 a.m. weekends.

The location is tucked away behind floor-to-ceiling glass doors on a side street just off Rittenhouse Square, in the rear of the ICON 1616 building (formerly known as 1616 Walnut St.). Yes, all of you who attended Temple University Center City years ago, before it moved to 1515 Market, this is the old parking garage.

As a point of reference, Little Pete's is on the corner, at 17th and Chancellor.

Michaud says the operation is the same as the original on Callowhill Street (most pizzas $12 to $18), with the addition of a $30 lobster-topped pizza called The Rittenhouse.

Bar has tap wines, bottled cocktails, and a choice of four (soon to be six) beer on draft, plus cans and bottles.
