It's barely summer, and already there's drama at the Shore.

Chef Philippe Chin says he is out of Philippe Chin French-Asian Bistro & Deck Bar at 800 Bay Ave. in Somers Point, which he opened in spring 2012.

He's opening a restaurant in "paradise": Maui, Hawaii. 

He said he wanted to work the season in Somers Point but had to act now.

The Somers Point restaurant previously was 800 Bay after seasons as Fanucci's and Tucker's. It's a 300-seater in its multiple rooms and is accessible by land (comp valet parking) and water (private slips).

Chin ran several restaurants in Philly before he left in 2001 for stops across the South. 

On Saturday, Chin posted on his Facebook: "First day of summer 2013 was the last day of Chef Philippe Chin association with 800 bay by Philippe. Don t be fooled by the signage ! menu has changed and I do not have anything [to] do with this restaurant. Stay tune for updates from paradise! Thank you all for your devoted support."
