You've heard of beer and brats? Well...

Swarthmore's 320 Market Cafe owner David Cunicelli is aiming for a different kind of beer pairing, starting Wednesday, Jan. 22.

He's twinning four beers and four varieties of Girl Scout cookies. Patrons will get four 4-ounce pours and two of each Girl Scout cookie for $12.

Here's the lineup, along with Cunicelli's tasting notes:

Caramel deLites with Lancaster Double Chocolate Milk Stout (6.7% ABV): Dense caramel and chocolate drizzle combine to add additional depth to the milk stout and draw attention to its malty sweetness, while the toasted coconut plays well off of the smoky depth inherent to the style.

Peanut Butter Patties and Founders Imperial Stout (10.5% ABV): The thick mouthfeel of peanut butter makes these cookies a natural complement to a rich, heavy stout, casting a warm light on the beer's nutty undertones while the chocolate sweetness juxtaposes the hint of roasted coffee.

Lemonades and Ship Bottom Beach Patrol Hefeweizen (4.7%ABV): Citrus is the obvious star of this pairing, from the sparkling acidity of the Hefeweizen to the saturation of lemon throughout the cookie. However, the unified flavor allows texture to take center stage, pitting the beer's effervescence against the creaminess of the cookie's frosting and elevating both to new heights.

Cranberry Citrus Crisps and Bell's Two Hearted IPA (7%): Cranberries, known for their sweet yet puckering complexity, are an easy match for a full-bodied IPA. The Cranberry Citrus Crisp's sugary element cuts through hoppiness without diminishing it, and the beer's bitterness makes certain that tart berries shine through in this buttery treat.

Playing off the cafe's address (713 Chester Road, aka Route 320, Swarthmore), the tasting will begin at 3:20 p.m. Jan. 22 and will run while supplies last.

A rep for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania had no comment.
