Paesano's South Philly branch -- at the corner of Ninth and Christian Streets in the Italian Market, where Butcher's Cafe was -- has set a tentative opening date:

Thursday, Jan. 28.

Or Friday, Jan. 29.

Owner Peter McAndrews needs to get his staff in shape.

For now, here's a sneak peek at the menu.

Unbelievably good! Some of the best sandwiches I've ever had-and don't forget to get a side of potatos

You can get sandwiches just as good across the street at George's and Lorenzo's for almost half the price.
