Openings update

Plaza Cafe must hold off till Tuesday; Ladder 15 to bow March 27 something new coming to Wash West.

Chris Scarduzio at Table 31 says that an unresolved plumbing issue (the worst kind of plumbing issue) will delay the season debut for Plaza Cafe, outside the Comcast Center, till Tuesday. The cafe is launching takeout.

Ladder 15, the Mad River-run pub at 1528 Sansom St., has private opening parties planned for March 26 and 27 as it staggers its opening a bit. The public can come in at 9 p.m. Friday, March 27. It will open at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 28. The full schedule, lunch through late night, will begin Sunday, March 29.

Here's one opening to tuck away for a bit: Effie Bouikidis of Effie's, the Greek taverna at 1127 Pine St., will honor the memory of her father, Paul, who died last month. Her new BYOB across the street, at 1120 Pine, will be called ... Paul. Paul Bouikidis also owned Pine Street Pizza. Paul, targeted for summer, will be a contemporary American.
