New chef at Talula's Garden

Matt Moon is returning to the fold to work on Washington Square.

Aimee Olexy has tapped Matt Moon as the new executive chef at Talula's Garden, her partnership with Stephen Starr on Washington Square.

He starts Tuesday, replacing Michael Santoro, who parted company with StarrLexy last week. New menu will start in a few weeks.

Moon has worked in Olexy's orbit since Django, where he was a chef under her then-husband, Bryan Sikora. When Django closed, he worked at Alba in Malvern. When Sikora and Olexy opened Talula's Table in Kennett Square, he worked there for three years.

The move is a boon to Moon's marriage, as he and his wife, Mary, now both work in the city. She is a manager at Osteria on North Broad Street. They met at Zocalo in West Philly.

In the small-world department, Mary worked with Olexy at Blue Angel.

Sous chef Sean McPaul has been promoted to chef de cuisine.
