A.C. food truck wins national contest

Mike Hauke of Mustache Mobile and Tony Boloney's wins $20,000 and bragging rights. He thanks his terrier.

Mustache Mobile - the food truck run by Mike Hauke of Atlantic City's Tony Boloney's - wowed a panel of judges on "LIVE's Truckin' Amazing Cook-Off" today on LIVE with Kelly and Michael.

He won $20,000 and bragging rights.

In May, hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan announced the contest and put out a call for trucks. The top ten chefs came to New York and were showcased on the show. Viewers rated the recipes online after each appearance, and the four food trucks with the highest overall ratings were narrowed down to the top two after a nationwide online vote. They returned to New York for an in-studio final competition on today's show.

Hauke and his cheesesteak olé - a bestseller at Tony Boloney's, in the shadow of Revel Casino - went head-to-head with Scranton  chefs Mario Bevilacqua and Katie Graziosi's and their recipe for pulled pork tacos from the What The FORK food truck. Judges included chefs Jean-Georges Vongerichten,  Andrew Carmellini and Josh Capon.

Hauke's cheesesteak olé contains 10-spice sirloin steak, fried onions, Jack cheese and homemade buttermilk-chipotle ranch on a roll from A.C.'s Rando's Bakery.

Hauke tells me that if he has anyone to thank, it's his westie, Wally. He was getting dressed for work one morning when Wally started "barking wildly and going crazy at the TV," which was tuned to the show.

He looked up as Ripa and Strahan were calling for entries.
