March's Arbitron ratings came out yesterday, and as I slice and dice, here is the ranking of Philly stations in terms of audience share for mornings (6-10 a.m.). The stations themselves don't care for this stat. It counts all listeners, and stations sell their target demographics, whether it's persons ages 18-34, or men 25-54, or women 18-49.

 1. KYW
 2. B101's Tiffany & Michael
 3. WMMR's Preston & Steve
 4. WOGL's Breakfast Club
 5. WHYY's morning edition (syndicated)
 6. WIP's Angelo Cataldi show
 7. WDAS's Steve Harvey (syndicated)
 8. WMGK's John DeBella (who just reupped for three-plus years)
9 (tie). WRNB's Tom Joyner (syndicated)
9 (tie). WXTU's Evans & Andie (Scott Evans was let go last month)
11. WRFF (rock)
12. WPPZ's Yolanda Adams
13 (tie). Wired 96.5's Chio
13 (tie). The Beat 100.3
15. Q102's Elvis Duran (syndicated)
16. WPHT's Michael Smerconish
17. Ben 95.7's Marilyn Russell
18. WISX (My 106.1)'s Logan
19. WXPN's Michaela Majoun
20. WRTI's classical with Dave Conant
21. Power 99's Big Boy (syndicated)
22 (tie). Now 97.5
22 (tie). WYSP's Danny Bonaduce

Overall 104.5 was ranked 5th (ahead of MMR and way ahead of YSP)... this is great news as a station that focuses on just music is succeeding.

I guess Danny Bonaduce won't be around much longer.

WYSP shot themselves after Stern left and they tried to replace him. That all day talk format ran people away and they lost their integrity. Ba-ba-booey

Had a little trouble with my MP3 player lately so I scanned the morning radio shows. Why do people still listen to this stuff??? Too many commercials and lame attempts at humor. Memo to morning show hosts: you're probably not funny if you have to hire sidekicks to laugh at your jokes.

Bonaduce is tied for dead last- I had no idea he was doing that well. That Preston and Steve show is brutal. I don't know how anybody listens to it. It's all screaming and sound effects and local references. It sounds like a Simpsons sspoof about morning radio.

I see Smerconish isn't doing too good. Bonaduce is terrible. I like 104.5. Glad to see they are doing good.

I have to say, i'm glad to see Preston and Steve doing well. They make my morning. As for Elvis Duran, he should be tied in dead last with Bonanduce.

Smerconish? He would copulate with Obama if he could pry Chris Matthews off of his leg. Ratings crashed right about the time he came out of the closet and professed his man love for the new messiah ("calm the seas, heal the earth") ??? Such pride and such a long way down from the top of the mountain.

How low can Smerconish go? His freefall is not over yet folks! Just like his "messiah" Obama, I hope he fails.
