To explain the liquor application in the window at 1921 Walnut St.:

The Vasiliadis brothers, who own Monkey Bar a block west at 2029 Walnut, are developing another lounge, in the odd-shaped mansion that previously accommodated Empyrean Coffee. This will be called Kashmir, says Alex Vasiliadis, who dubs the concept as "ethno-lounge kitchen" reminiscent of a "Parisian boudoir in Tangier" featuring comfort food from all parts of the world. They'll take advantage of the three fireplaces.

Vasiliadis, whose background includes the former Casa La Femme North and Le Souk in NYC, hopes to be open by New Year's.
