Mercadito is still on track in Rittenhouse

Work on Mercadito - the high-style Mexican restaurant that has been on the books here since fall 2013 - is indeed proceeding on the ground floor of the new high-rise at 2116 Chestnut St.
A rep for owner Alfredo Sandoval says it is now due to open in "late summer." She blamed unspecified construction delays.
Sandoval owns Mercadito locations in Chicago, New York and Miami, with a D.C. location also under construction.
The Philadelphia location will be twinned with his cocktail bar Double A, which has a speakeasy vibe.
