What's up on the Manayunk restaurant scene?

Jake's and Cooper's Wine Bar has been out of commission since a water main break in mid-July.

A quick update on Main Street in Manayunk:

Aug. 23 is the target for the reopening of Thai BYOB favorite Chabaa Thai, now paired next door with a market/cafe called Binto. This is at 4343-45 Main St., at the corner of Grape Street, where Main Street Market was for a hot minute. Backgrounder is here.

Repairs are underway at Jake's and Cooper's Wine Bar (4365 Main St.). Owner Bruce Cooper got a call one morning in mid-July, informing him that a water main had ruptured beneath the sidewalk in front of his side-by-side restaurants. Cooper says the restaurants should reopen in the fall.

New on the block is Gigi Italian Bistro (4357 Main), a BYOB from Maya.J owner Craig Wilson and fiancee Jacqueline Au.

Meanwhile, the smoker has been long idled at Rubb BBQ (4311 Main); a new tenant is waiting in the wings. But not to serve wings. ...  Same for the shuttered Derek's (4411 Main). ...The owner of Breakin' Bread Bakery (4351 Main) decided to baguette about a month ago. ... A Manayunk branch of Northern Liberties' El Camino Real (set for the old Hikaru at 4348 Main) is still on the books, though there is no timeline for its opening.
