Maia, the ambitious Villanova cafe/restaurant/marketplace that opened just off the Blue Route only last May, has shut down, acknowledges general manager Nicole Pizzi.

The landlord is interested in putting in a new tenant in the upstairs and downstairs, says another manager.

In March, Maia closed its posher upstairs room to focus on downstairs.

Overpriced and overblown....with a lousy location to boot. Not a surprise.

Hope a great restaurant with better food/service can fill it's shoes. I think it's the most stunning decor and ambiance of any restaurant south of NYC.

It's a shame, really. It felt very swanky which was even more fun because it was way out in the suburbs. We need more upscale restaurants out here with a worldly feel.

Topwingggirl, be happy with the Grog and Kelly's! Or at least the cougars are now at the Boat House and Great American Pub.....

Right on Chuck B. Terrible concept in a worse location.
