Michelle Obama and daughters did a Saturday afternoon stop for Italian-style gelato at Capogiro at 13th and Sansom Streets.

An hour before, Secret Service tipped manager Dawne Ballard to their impending arrival and swore her to secrecy.

The first lady ordered chocolate banana and cioccolato scuro; Malia had dulce de leche and fior di latte; and Sasha kept it simple with dulce de leche.

An aide paid, shrugging off offers of a comp.

Must be nice to travel 130 miles in an escorted limo, jump to the front of the line, have a guaranteed table waiting, and then go back home again, just for a dessert...all paid for by the good ol' USA's dime.

Seawall, at least hubby is at work! By this time in DUBYAs first term, he had already broken the record for most vacation time by any president.

But I'll bet you losers were just fine with the Secret Service concierging the Bush twins all over the world and hosing down the puke-stained streets behind them. Or closing down parks so the Chimp could ride his bicycle. IOKIYAR!

Willie, and we have Bill to thank for handling BinLaden during his term. The trip to N Korea was a publicity stunt.

The Philadelphia area should be flattered that with its parochial environment, more like a suburb of New York and Wilmington, that the First Family would come for anything.

Poor paying customers probably had to stay a block away for an hour so they could eat. Should have got SS to bring it the car. Independence hall was a mess we had to wait 2 hrs to get in because they were there.

Would you prefer there was no security for the First Family? Should they live in a bubble, like royalty? Sheesh, there's no pleasing some people.
