Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie's Haverford pad is on the market, with an asking price of $8.5 million.
Lurie and wife Christina bought the property at the end of 1994 for $2.6 million (according to Montgomery County records) and put much into it.
The couple are heavily renovating the Annenberg estate in Wynnewood, for which they paid $14 million in 2007.
The Haverford listing describes the five-bedroom off Montgomery Avenue as "understated elegance" -- that is, "handsome 1928 stone Normandy nestled on 2.31 manicured acres on a private lane" with pool, spa, cabana, and clay tennis court, and "landscaped in the European tradition with elegant front and rear courtyards, flagstone terraces and spectacular park-like grounds."

Swanky. Perhaps the city of Philadelphia should put a lien on it. Professor Smart E. Pants, PhD.
I thought Lurie lived in Philadelphia around Oxford Circle. The Baron

Once he sells the house, then he pays the city. UH RIGHT!!! Phil S
WOW over 300% appreciation in this market. That must be 1 hell of a house the Eagle fans bought. He is so pompous. Did he bring on some new siblings that he had to upgrade? Maybe John & Kate + 8 can shack up with them in their new digs. I hope there is an undiscovered fault line under his property and it crumbles into a sink hole right before he gets ready to move in. $8.5 million for a five bedroom seems like a lot, but it does come with a swell counting room. Richard Saunders
Wow, that is some major appreciation in the market. I wonder what kind of renovations they did to see that kind of value increase? Either way, if they plan on selling a home at that price, they should at least plan on doing some active marketing and at least get some publicity by making a real estate video and distributing across the web. With that asking price and the current market conditions, you can use all the help you can get! jollyjill
"Honey! I'm home!!!!!" heh heh heh... Nice digs! Chuckle Berry
They should look into swapping for Michael Vick's place Grover
