Leigh Richards, in a promo photo.

Leigh Richards, midday personality at country WXTU (92.5), marked her 25th anniversary at the station on Nov. 9.

And on Thursday (11/18), she was sent packing.

She's gone from the website.

I'll update when and if she and/or station officials return my requests for comment.

OMG, I feel like she has been there since the station went country. She has been the one consistent voice (and face) of station. Huge mistake on WXTU's part, hopefully another station (like WOGL) will hire her quickly.

I knew something was up on Friday when some guy was on the air. I went to the website and her name was gone! What is XTU doing lately?? Seems like no one is safe! This is the only news article I have been able to find on the situation. It's just like when Scott, then Kris were let go - no explanation or even an announcement. Just a new voice on the schedule. We'll miss you Leigh!

XTU disappointed me when they let Scott go, but I kept listening because I love Andi. Now, the fun and knowledgeable Leigh Richards got the boot! I have halfway switched to the Delaware country station. Now I think I'll stay with them. Goodbye XTU

Except for Leigh, WXTU hasn't been worth listening to since Gina Preston & John Lodge left. Thank GOD for my iPod on the go and PANDORA at work and home!

Leigh Richards FB page has hundreds of listeners upset that she's gone http://www.facebook.com/#!/leighrichards
I myself have created a group page with over 200 members from across the world, she has fans that reach Canada. Myself and a few others have reached out to Beasley Broadcasting and 92.5wxtu and have gotten no where, a form letter responce to an email and I recieved a phone call. We the listeners have stopped listening, we want answers, we want Leigh back on the air, even if it were just a once or twice a week show, Leigh Richards was the heart of XTU. Group page link, please check us out http://www.facebook.com/#!/home.php?sk=group_120929224637563&ap=1

she was the best thing that ever happened to XTU, now it's just a mediocre station.
