Landmark La Campagne closes

The French BYOB in Cherry Hill is beset by "leasing issues."

La Campagne, a French BYOB that opened in the early 1990s in a 150-year-old farmhouse tucked off Kresson Road in Cherry Hill, has closed. (First Gilmore's in West Chester, now La Campagne. Not a good summer for French BYOs.)

Chef/owner Richard Benussi has taken to Facebook.

Dear our guests-

It is with much sadness we have closed our Cherry Hill location of La Campagne due to leasing issues. We have been a part of the Cherry Hill community for many years and will miss the beautiful Farmhouse we called home. We have gotten to know many of you personally and have loved serving you. We will continue our event & catering services and cooking classes as we search for a new home.

We know many of you have gotten married, had anniversaries, baby showers, and life's pivotal events at our restaurant and we are proud to have shared in them. We look forward to continuing to do so. We have already booked a series of private events for some of our clients and are looking forward to continuing to serve you. Those individuals who have questions about upcoming events or would like to book an event, please e-mail us at ChefBenussi@hotmail.com. In addition, we will be announcing our upcoming cooking classes in the next few months.

As a special treat, we will also be sharing with you some of our favorite recipes. So, check our FaceBook, Twitter and E-mails for more information.

I've asked about the status of gift certificates.
