Kristen Welker not coming back to NBC10

NBC just hired her away as an L.A. reporter.

No shock here:

NBC has just announced that NBC10 anchor/reporter Kristen Welker is joining NBC News as a network correspondent based in Burbank, Calif.

She's been out there since June, on what was originally billed as a loan.

It's effective August 30. She will report for all platforms of NBC News, including MSNBC.

Bio: Welker, a Germantown Friends grad, started at NBC 10 as a general assignment reporter in April 2005 and most recently anchored weekend newscasts. Before her move to Philadelphia, Welker was a reporter and weekend morning anchor at WLNE-TV in Providence, R.I. Prior to that, she worked as an anchor and reporter at KRCR-TV in Redding, Calif. Early in her career, Welker worked as a researcher on NBC's Weekend Today, and as an assistant producer for CBS Newspath.
