Main Line gets a kosher steak house

C+R Kitchen has yielded to a fancier menu, and a new kosher grill has landed in Narberth.

Citron + Rose opened at 370 Montgomery Ave. in Merion Station in late 2012 as the Main Line's poshest kosher destination.

In mid-2014, it rebranded as the more family-friendly C+R Kitchen.

Now it's gone back upscale as C+R Kitchen Steak House.

David Magerman and his crew at Six Points Restaurant Group (Six Points Kosher Events, The Dairy Café, and Montgomery Bagels & Bakery) have simply added a few touches to the contemporary decor, while updating the menu (see it here).

Starters include house-cured gravlax, lamb sliders, and a steak house wedge salad with beef fry. Entrees start at $25 for tortellini and chicken, and top out at $42 for the halibut. The steaks start at $34 for steak frites (available as a salad, for $28) and had north to $65 for prime rib. Bar includes Scotch flights, cocktails, and mevushal wines.

It's open to the public from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Also new on the Main Kine kosher scene is Star of David Kosher Grill, which replaced Burger.Org at 942 Montgomery Ave. in Narberth (484-278-4129).

Where C+R Kitchen Steak House's menu is focused, Star of David's is all over the place, reports the Jewish Exponent, listing sushi, Chinese food, shwarama, burgers.

It's open from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday.
