Koo Zee Doo's Gilberg lands at Morgan's Pier

This spring and summer, starting Thursday, May 1, David Gilberg will turn up as chef at Morgan's Pier, the seasonal joint beneath the Ben Franklin Bridge (221 N. Columbus Blvd.)

Northern Liberties lost a great BYOB last summer when David Gilberg and Carla Goncalves closed Koo Zee Doo, their Portuguese restaurant.

This spring and summer, starting Thursday, May 1, Gilberg will turn up as chef at Morgan's Pier, the seasonal joint beneath the Ben Franklin Bridge (221 N. Columbus Blvd.) George Sabatino, who set up the place last season, is building his own restaurant, Aldine, at 19th and Chestnut Streets.

The food menu (here as a JPG) is a something-for-everyone mix: piri piri chicken, spare ribs, chicken wings, little neck clams, and a bunch o' vegan and vegetarian dishes such as mushroom banh mi and spinach and kale salad.

Goncalves, a pastry whiz, will join Gilberg Sundays for brunch.

Drink menu (here also as a JPG) has 14 beers on drafts, a neat can selection, and cocktails.

Entertainment lineup is here.
