If you've missed the soulful cooking of David Gilberg since Northern Liberties' Koo Zee Doo closed three months ago, you're in luck.

Effective Saturday, Oct. 12, he will join One Shot Coffee (217 W. George St.) - a few blocks from the former BYOB - as chef.

Owner Melissa Baruno said she is giving him "lots of creative freedom" as he retools the menu.

Before cooking Portuguese favorites, Gilberg cheffed at such spots as Matyson, Loie, Coquette, and the Ugly American.
