Jonathan Petruce is chef at Uptown Beer Garden

The beer garden on JFK has been enlarged for Year Two.

Uptown Beer Garden will be back for a second season at BNY Mellon Wealth, 1735 JFK Blvd.

Opening day will be Thursday, May 19, and it will run weeknights through Sept. 30.

His menu, cooked on a new outdoor grill, includes skewers (BBQ pork belly, spicy shrimp, Spanish octopus, Turkish chicken, and chimichurri beef); sandwiches (cheesesteak, veggie "cheesesteak," sausage & peppers with a house-made spicy bacon fennel sausage," roast pork, and lobster roll); and snacks, including cucumber salad, potato salad, green bean salad, and warm cornbread.

Marble benches are gone to make way for  more picnic table seating. Also this year, private events will gain access to the inner atrium of the BNY Mellon Wealth building.

Sourias has amped the number of craft-beer taps to eight, including Neshaminy Creek Trauger Pils, Half Acre Daisy Cutter, Ballast Point Wahoo White, and Sprecher Grapefruit Radler.

Initial hours will be 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and 2 p.m. to midnight Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

The Uptown's grand opening and Center City SIPS preview party will be Wednesday, May 25 (5 to 7 p.m.), with beer and cocktail tastings and menu samples. As part of the SIPS preview, the Uptown will offer $5 cocktails, $4 wine, $3 beer and half-priced appetizers.
