Joe Coffee Bar getting ready

Better latte than never.

Looks like April 2 for the debut of the New York-based artisanal coffee shop, making its Philly debut at 1845 Walnut St., facing Rittenhouse Square. (A second location is tagged for late summer in the Chestnut Square project at 3200 Chestnut St.)

The shop will have 27 indoor seats, 12 outdoor seats, and 20 seats in the lobby of 1845 Walnut. The interior, designed by Street Sense Architects, features reclaimed wood counters and rotating photography from local artists. Seating options include a farmhouse table, café tables, and a standing espresso bar.

Joe will offer drip coffee and espresso beverages using a selection of its own beans (roasted in NYC), and Intelligentsia Black Cat beans for espresso. Baristas will prepare espresso beverages on a La Marzocco Strada.

Joe also will serve tea and baked goods, including selections from Philadelphia’s Brûlée Bakery and Brooklyn’s Ovenly. There's also a line of branded merchandise.

Hours will be 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday
