Introducing Keg & Kitchen

Kevin Meeker has revamped Cork in Westmont into a homey pub.

After a quick but effective renovation, Keg & Kitchen has arisen from the former Cork at 90 Haddon Ave. in Westmont.

Saying it was time to update after seven years, owner Kevin Meeker brought in craftsman David Dowling to effect a rough-hewn atmosphere that includes a 16-foot black walnut tree found in the woods in Lancaster. Light fixtures are old plumbing fixtures and used fixtures.

Now in the kitchen is Anthony Marini, who had worked for Meeker at Philadelphia Fish & Company in Old City.

There are 17 drafts and 75 bottles - micros, Belgians, et cetera - plus cocktails.

This week, it's serving dinner only. Lunch starts Monday, March 12. Brunch starts Sunday, March 18.

Here's the opening-night menu. You'll notice bread and butter for 3 bucks; Meeker says that was a lighthearted way of telling his old Cork customers that the house-baked bread is no longer comped.
