IndeBlue's Philly location on target for June 1

Collingswood BYOB heads to the big city with a liquor license.

IndeBlue's Philly location on target for June 1

Thirteen months ago, Rakesh and Heather Ramola signed on to open a Center City branch of IndeBlue, their Collingswood Indian BYOB.

Now they're finally in the homestretch at 205 S. 13th St., the former Pastoral and across from the old Letto Deli. They're saying they will open June 1, and a look-see today showed that it is almost ready.

Although their two restaurants seat the same number, the Philly location has a more upscale feel and has a small bar. They plan a beer bottle list, and eight to 10 red wines and eight to 10 white wines plus a few speciality cocktails, said Heather Ramola.

Rakesh Ramola, a former Tiffin chef, is still working out the menu. In Collingswood, the fare is fairly traditional with a few modern specials tossed in. In Philly, it will be the opposite.

The Ramola's first opened in Collingswood about four years ago in the snug spot now occupied by Joey Baldino's Italian destination, Zeppoli, at 618 Collings Ave.

Two years in, they moved across the street  to 619 Collings Ave. after they outgrew the space.
