Hop Sing Laundromat to allow sneakers*
Only on New Year's Eve.
Among the quirks of the Chinatown bar Hop Sing Laundromat - aside from the militant no-camera policy - is the strictly enforced no-sneakers policy.
The owner, Le, is straitlaced that way and turns away people every night.
But he has a sense of humor.
On New Year's Eve, starting at 10 p.m., he will allow sneakers through the door of HSL, 1029 Race St., till 2 a.m.
There will be no cover. Seating is limited.
* It's one night only.
He advises that from 5 to 9:15 p.m. that evening, the bar will be open, but sneakers will not be permitted.
And a heads-up: Hop Sing Laundromat will be closed from Tuesday, Dec. 23 through Thursday, Dec. 25.
