The wildly popular vegan quick-service secures a storefront at 40th and Walnut Streets.

Nicole Marquis - coping with a daily line out the door of her vegan quick-serve HipCityVeg on 18th Street in Rittenhouse - is branching out.

Come September, she expects to open a second location, at 214 S. 40th St. in University City.

It's in a former Chinese restaurant around the corner from the new Harvest, the Rave movie theater and (as she pointed out to me) Bobby's Burger Palace.

Same menu and concept, she says, but about 35 seats. Rich Landau of Vedge is on board to devise new menu items.

There's no further word on the restaurant she is working on at 13th and Sansom.
