Helm duo to run the kitchen at Morgan's Pier

Chefs/restaurateurs Michael Griffiths and Kevin D'Egidio of Helm and South Helm have been tapped as the 2017 chefs at Morgan's Pier, the seasonal operation on the Delaware beneath the Ben Franklin Bridge that bills itself as Philadelphia's backyard beer garden.

Each season, owner Four Corners Management chooses a "chef in residence" to run the kitchens and put his mark on the menu. Past pot-bangers include Jim Burke (formerly of James), Nicholas Elmi (Laurel, ITV), George Sabatino (Aldine), David Katz (Honeygrow), and David Gilberg (formerly of Koo Zee Doo).

The pier will open to the public April 20.
