Hard Rock Cafe still open at Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City
The cafe will maintain regular operating hours and be accessed through the boardwalk entrance.
Rock-and-roll is here to stay, for now.
Oct. 10's closing of the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City - throwing nearly 3,000 people out of work - will not extend to the Hard Rock Cafe that since 1996 has been a part of the property.
In a statement over the weekend, Hard Rock International said the eatery "has been and continues to be committed to Atlantic City and our employees. ... The cafe will maintain regular operating hours and be accessed through the boardwalk entrance."
"Hard Rock is a strong supporter of the Atlantic City community, and for 20 years that community has been a strong supporter of ours," said Todd McCann, general manager of Hard Rock Cafe Atlantic City, in the statement. "It is this relationship that has made us dedicated to keeping our doors open at Hard Rock Cafe Atlantic City."
This Hard Rock Cafe location, whose lease is said to expire at the end of the year, opened in November 1996. It employs about 100 people.
