For his fourth GSE, the D.C.-based Mendelsohn said he had been scoping out the prime Rittenhouse location - 108 S. 18th St. - for nearly two years. Tuesday, June 24 marked the debut of Philadelphia's Good Stuff Eatery, the burger-focused fast-casual shop from Top Chef season 4 fan favorite Spike Mendelsohn.

For his fourth GSE, the D.C.-based Mendelsohn said he had been scoping out the prime Rittenhouse location - 108 S. 18th St. - for nearly two years.

The menu is simple: burgers/grilled chicken, fresh-cut fries, wedge lettuce salads, shakes from ice cream made on the premises, beer on draft and in cans).

It might be tempting to grab food and just scoot, but you should see what architect/designer Ed Eimer and his crew did to the dining room on the second floor, which has two- and four-top tables, as well as a communal table. A giant, silver bell - no crack - hangs from the second floor downstairs.

Hours are 11 to 11 Monday to Saturday, noon to 8 Sunday.
