Gonzalez and Sikahema

Inquirer sports columnist John "Gonzo" Gonzalez and NBC10 sports director Vai Sikahema are making last week's on-the-air partnership permanent.

The sports-talk station 97.5 The Fanatic just announced that they will be paired weekdays from 10 a.m. to noon, the station's "early midday show."

Side gig for both.

The lineup:
Mike & Mike, 6 to 10 a.m.
Vai Sikahema and John Gonzalez, 10 a.m. to noon
Tony Bruno with Harry Mayes, noon to 2 p.m.
Mike Missanelli, 2 to 6 p.m.
"The Fanatic Hour" from 6 to 7 p.m.

Take this as a lesson, people with subpar skills: Like "Gonzo" did, you can get ahead in the world.

Vai is an all-time favorite. Gonzo is a fun read. It should be interesting to hear them together, but it will be tough for that station to do anything against WIP

Would have preferred Mike Bradley and Vai- they seemed to have better chemistry and Bradley is extremely knowledgable

They still need a morning show. This is Philadelphia, we're not accepting of a national fluff show from Bristol.

dpcoz- Odd, that you'll apparently gladly accept a local WIP fluff show that has been using the same tired themes for 15 years.

The Prof and the Cuz are stale. I had a chance to listen to Vai and Gonzo today for about a half hour. Vai is great but Gonzo is still annoying. However, they are a good option.
