Goat's Beard of Manayunk coming to Main Line

North Wayne Avenue space is right off Lancaster Avenue.

The Goat's Beard, the whiskey bar/restaurant that opened in Manayunk nearly three years ago, is looking at early May for the opening of a second location, at 103 N. Wayne Ave. in Wayne.

Sean Coyle and business partner Michael MacCrory are taking the space that was recently Xilantro, which opened in 2011. (Xilantro's former owner, Luis Marin, says he is focusing on El Sarape and his food trucks.)

Makes sense. Both men live in Wayne, and Coyle's family owned the old Binni & Flynn's in Gateway Shopping Center for years. Coyle also owned and later sold Bourbon Blue in Manayunk.

Executive chef Joel Romano will oversee both kitchens. Manayunk's kitchen will be run by Max Caplan, while Evan Nefoske will be promoted to the same title in Wayne.

Both have been with the Goat's Beard since its opening.

The Goat's Beard, incidentally, was named after the plant that resembles an astilbe, not  the animal.
