Get your belly set for Feastival

The calendar is dotted with food and drink festivals, at which one price buys you unlimited food and drink.

Nothing compares to Feastival, going into its fourth year. It's a benefit for FringeArts (formerly known as Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe) and combines the performing arts with the culinary arts. While performers entertain inside and out, dozens of restaurants and bars feed you.

The 2013 edition will play out the evening of Thursday, Sept. 12 in the cavernous confines of Pier 9 along the Delaware.

Attendees will get an early taste of Pizzeria Vetri (opening at 1939 Callowhill St. on Sept. 6), which will serve its Roman-style Pizza al Taglio.

Also, Nick Elmi, who will open a BYOB called Laurel at 1617 E. Passyunk Ave. in November, will be there, serving duck tacos. Be sure to ply him with questions about the next season of Bravo's Top Chef, which premieres Oct. 2. But he will say nothing because of a nondisclosure agreement. Same for Elmi's fellow Philly contestant, Jason Cichonski, who will sling pork belly banh cam as he represents his Queen Village bistro, Ela.
