Get set for Snap Kitchen, a healthy takeout specialist

Five locations, to be served from a commissary.

Snap Kitchen, an Austin, Texas-rooted healthful-takeout specialist, is laying the foundation for a large presence in the Philadelphia region.

It's building a commissary in Kensington, which in the next several months will serve five locations including 1901 Chestnut St. (in the former Burger.Org location beneath Aldine) in Rittenhouse (due to open in February); at the former Shirt Corner, at Third and Market Streets in Old City; at the Granary on Callowhill Street in Logan Square; on Walnut Street near 11th; and at 5 Morehall Rd. in Malvern.

Snap announced in August that it had raised $22 million for expansion and had brought in David Kirchhoff, a former CEO of Weight Watchers, as CEO.
