Garces bringing Distrito to Moorestown Mall

Jose Garces has signed a lease for a Distrito location at Moorestown Mall, as Joe Coradino, who runs mall operator Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust, announced on a conference call to investors yesterday.

Garces will join Marc Vetri, who plans to open a branch of Osteria at the mall later this year. A Firebirds Wood Fired Grill and Corner Bakery are on the way there, too.

The news was first reported by Moorestown's Patch site.

Distrito's flagship location is at 40th and Chestnut Streets in University City. There's another location in Scottsdale, Ariz., and a Distrito Cantina at Revel in Atlantic City. No timeline has been released.

All told, Garces now has 14 restaurants plus a taco truck. He also is renovating Chifa at 707 Chestnut St. into a Cuba diner.
