Northeastern Pennsylvanians weaned on deli-style "pitz" are getting a taste of home.

Frankie's Boxed Tavern Pizza of Hazleton will set up shop at Reading Terminal Market's center court on Sundays, beginning Aug. 3.

Like other pitz from coal country, it is thick-sliced rectangles with heavy toppings.

Frankie's uses a three-cheese romano blend. Because it's shelf-stable for a few days (and is really meant to be eaten at room temperature), the Vito family will bake it upstate and drive it down to the market in 12-cut boxes.

Wondering how Reading Terminal - which strives for a diverse food selection - is allowing more pizza? Easy, says management, By George is closed on Sundays.
