Free food to mark SoWe's anniversary

Sliders, beer, adult milkshakes and ice cream sandwiches on May 1.

Free food to mark SoWe's anniversary

Nancy Law gave away alfresco lunch at her restaurant, SoWe, a few weeks ago when the temperature hit 70.

She's giving away food and booze from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 to mark the first anniversary of the bistro, at 22d and Carpenter Streets.

Expect complimentary sliders (burgers; pork belly; chick pea fritters; lamb burgers; meatball; chicken mole; vegan Reuben) and mini-ice cream sandwiches from chef Jennifer Choplin, plus draft beer and a new line of adult milkshakes from bar manager Craig Steel.

He has a chocolate bourbon shake that combines house-infused Maker¹s Mark bacon bourbon, vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup, drizzled with chocolate and garnished with a slice of candied chocolate bacon.
