Freddie Mitchell on his arrest

POSTED: Monday, December 7, 2009, 11:03 AM

Former Eagle Freddie Mitchell, cohosting with Dan Schwartzman from 10 a.m. to noon on 97.5 The Fanatic, led off today's show with ... himself.

He said wasn't thanking his hands; he had to thank his lawyer.

Mitchell spent two hours with the Lower Merion Police yesterday after he was pulled over for speeding in his Maserati and an outstanding warrant was found for his arrest.

FredEx said he did not know he was a wanted man.

He acknowledged on the air that he has not paid child support for his daughter ("little princess"), but "they don't understand."

"When it comes to parenting [mothers] .. have all the rights," he said.

Hear his statement here.

It's been a rotten few months for Mitchell.

In September, a judge took away the barbecue restaurant he owned in Florida.

I have as much interest in FredEx's opinion as I do in B-Bop's. Glad I'm out of range of the station.

Ms. Lou...it's not because he's black...it's because he's a MORON. Morons come in all colors... and genders. Get a life and stop playing the race card.

Finally something I agree with fredEx on ... the inequality of child support. I am all for going to the debit system. Put money in a child support account, give the parent receiving the support a debit card, and then both sides have receipts for everything, and you know the money is being spent on the child. Sure there are ways around everything, but it isn't fair ...

WHY?! Tell me why we even have to read of him; most sane fans/people never want to hear him utter a single word. He is precisely why having an opinion should be illegal for some.........

Ms. Lou, What's wrong with getting a speeding ticket in a Honda? At least in a Honda you might be able to get away with it. A Maserati is a moving target for tickets. I was first able to nail Vincent Ludwig when I pulled him over for talking on his cell phone while driving his Maserati. Lt. Frank Drebin, Police Squad

Child support law in PA: The non-custodial parent's support obligation is based on his potential income. So if he loses a job as, say, a football player, the court still calculates the support obligation based on what he made when he was playing. It's an unfair, jacked up system. To make matters worse, if the mother won't let the father see the kid, he still has to pay! Mom gets rich, kid gets therapy, dad gets broke. Nobody wins.

LT Derbin I'm so glad you could save us all from the man with the cell phone. God knows what would happen if cops didn't seek out the criminals that use their cell phones when they drive. Thank you! Thank you so much for putting your life on the line to stop cell phone use. Its no wonder the 4th cop got hit in Washington, he forgot he was suppossed to defend this country. He was on his computer while working. He got worse then a ticket!!!!!!!!
