Fox29: Political debate or NASCAR

Facebook lights up over the station's decision to air politics over auto racing.

Fox29: Political debate or NASCAR

Think Eagles fans get into a hissy fit over missed coverage?

Get a load of Fox29's Facebook page, bursting with bons mots from NASCAR fans over the station's decision to air Saturday's Senate debate between Joe Sestak and Arlen Specter instead of the Heath Calhoun 400 from Richmond.

Typical comment (edited because this is a family blog): "Fox should be ashamed of you. They spend the money to broadcast the Nascar races and you put that [nasty word that rhymes with "full bit"] on instead!!!"

Fox29's newsroom's phone bank has lit up, too.

Some acerbic editor at Fox acknowledged the decision: "Just in time for the first caution. Thanks for your Patience. Enjoy the race."
