About a dozen black-clad, bandanna-wearing, bullhorn-toting foie gras protesters showed up outside Washington Square West restaurants Zinc, Caribou Cafe and Valanni last night.

The city is in the final days of Philadelphia Foie Gras Week, during which restaurants are offering $5 foie gras specials.

Police reported no arrests, and it's not clear who these protesters are -- though they seem younger than previous protesters. Nick Cooney, head of the Humane League of Philadelphia (formerly Hugs for Puppies), said his group was not involved. Cooney said his group had turned its attention elsewhere.

They are people without a clue about life. Wasting time and energy on food sources rather than real issues involving people. If they want to be involved in a cause, make it a real cause.

Why don't these losers protest the politicians that steal our money every day?

I am proud to be one of the "greedy gluttons" LOL who enjoyed the delicious Foie Gras at Time last night in spite of having a bunch of bandanna wearing idiots protesting in the window! They are clueless and weak people who need to get a life!

I LOVE foie gras and will go out of my way to patronize the restaurants that serve it! I will savor this fine delicasy and pay homage to the valiant goose or duck, who offered its life for my gastronomic pleasure! Find something worthwhile to protest, you idiots!

As Dr. McCoy said "Why people need to consume the livers of other living creatures is beyond me." Well, sir, would you prefer we eat everything else but the liver and then just through away those "gross" parts?
