Fishtown Tavern changing hands

The owner of Buffalo Billiards is buying it.

Fishtown Tavern changing hands

Another dive bar is getting a pick-me-up.

Fishtown Tavern, on Frankford Avenue at Thompson Street in Fishtown seemingly for eons, is in play.

Prospective buyers are Curt Large, who owns Buffalo Billiards in Old City, and his general manager, Josh Semesh, who lives nearby.

It won't be a pool room, Large assures.

Once the liquor license is transferred - and keep in mind that the bar is in business right now - Large says they will do minor renovations and reopen this summer as Fishtown Tavern. "It will stay a neighborhood pub, with expanded food offerings and craft beer."
