Euro-style: Fork & Barrel in East Falls

Peco Energy might not love the new Fork & Barrel, which replaced the Pour House this week at 4213 Ridge Ave. in East Falls (215-848-1990).

The hauntingly peaceful interior is lit entirely by candles, and though it's a casual bar, there's not even the glow of a TV, notes co-owner Matt Scheller, partnered with Matt and Colleen Swartz.

The three also own The Bookstore, a "speakeasy" in Bethlehem, and Tap & Table, a gastropub in Emmaus. Chef Eric Stemp oversees a stick-to-your-ribs Euro menu and all-Euro beer list. It's open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesdays through Sundays.
