Dos Tacos: Humble tortilla goes to Rittenhouse

You can't keep the humble taco down.

Especially when chefs get to it.

Sylva Senat, the Brooklyn-born Haitian who had been running a restaurant in Virginia after landing here with Tashan, is now in the taco game with Dos Tacos. His partners are Ryan Dorsey and Marc Mattera of Recess.

Don't expect the usual "pork" or "tinga." Even the "beef" uses kobe. How about a "Ta-Korea" - get it? - that includes flank steak done bulgogi-style with kimchi and pickled cucumber.

Senat has set up a fun menu of about 10 creations. Figure on $7 to $9 for an order of two (e.g. dos tacos).

Best deal seems to be a $20 feast that includes a whole rotisserie chicken served with pico de gallo, sour cream, elotes (corn on the cob) and eight tortillas.

Ice cream taco and churros are on for dessert.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Wednesday, till 3 a.m. Thursday to Saturday.
